CASA expanded service into Marion County from Pinellas County after the previous domestic violence shelter lost funding and closed.

Marion County partnered with CASA in early January, but Wednesday morning, board members, including Sheriff Billy Woods, Commissioner Michelle Stone, and CEO Lariana Forsythe spoke about the services in the Webber Center of the College of Central Florida.

ā€œIā€™m truly honored to stand before you as CASA extends our commitment to Marion County to bring the same level of innovative care and support for survivors and their children in Marion County.ā€

Lariana Forsythe, CASA CEO

Since beginning service in Marion County, the organization has set up a temporary shelter and a 24-hour hotline, which can be reached by calling 352-722-CASA (2272).
