Domestic Violence Nonprofit Launches First Ever Scavenger Hunt for a Cause in Downtown Ocala

Community event raises awareness and funds for CASA Marion

[OCALA, FL., October 21, 2025] – The certified domestic violence service provider for Marion County, is bringing a brand-new community event to downtown Ocala this fall: the first annual Scavenger Hunt for a Cause on Saturday, November 15.

Teams of 2–10 players compete in a citywide scavenger hunt, solving clues, taking photos, and visiting local businesses to complete fun challenges all while raising critical funds to support local survivors of domestic violence. The event kicks off at 12 p.m. at Citizen’s Circle and wraps up at 3 p.m. at Midtown Station with a lively afterparty featuring prizes, refreshments, and community celebration.

All proceeds will benefit CASA Marion’s life-saving programs, including advocacy, prevention, outreach, and emergency assistance including a 24-hour hotline and shelter. “Every dollar raised helps us meet survivors where they are, with safety, compassion, and hope,” said Lariana Forsythe, CEO. “We can’t wait to see the community rally around this cause.”

Prizes will be awarded for top fundraising teams, top scoring teams, and best team costumes. Registration is open now for $35 per person at p2p.onecause.com/casamarion. Players can use promo code DVAM for 25% off during October in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The event is part of CASA Marion’s ongoing effort to raise awareness during Domestic Violence Awareness Month and engage the community in prevention and support efforts year-round. Sponsors include Stone Petroleum, Ausley Construction, Carmen’s Car Mart, the City of Ocala, and Tillman & Associates.
